We have a high volume artery going through the borough and whilst the Tram debate was on our local services got cut. We should be looking at ways of increasing capacity and linking buses to this line. The speed at which you can get around using the Great Western line makes it so attractive to move large numbers of people. Improved signalling would increase the number of trains that could operate and so wil longer trains more people can be moved quicker. Occasionally people would say why not extend the Central line to Southall. That would be a dumb move as it would not enhance local services one bit and would probably make them worse. Improve the Great Western and maybe re-open branches if possible. or at least tutn them into guided bus routes. All these side shows like the Tram caused Ealing to lose out on what services it had. |
