| 'the pro-tram brigade were every bit as noisy' You obviously didn't attend the public meeting where Councillor Wall was shouted down. The noise, along with the snarls, threats and intimidation, all came from the anti-trammers. 'The campaign of opposition to the tram scheme was effective not because it was 'noisy' but because its major participants and many others on its side knew what they were talking about and were in the right' Utter rot. Their only interest was in safeguarding their own petty interests as car drivers unwilling to see a much needed improvement to public transport. |
