Thomas As you can see, the sad truth is that the anti-trammers managed to persuade lots of people into thinking Ken's tram would need to run on 3-dimensional railway-type tracks (rather than the two shallow grooves in the ground which is the reality, and which cars can quite easily travel over). As regards being 'consistent' in thinking foreign examples are the thing to follow, you need to understand there has never been anything 'consistent' about the arguments of the car nutters who opposed the badly needed tram, their analysis of traffic issues is as flexible as their morals. |
