I was in Nottingham last week and saw these trams, Taxi driver said most people use the bus or Taxi as the tram doesn't go very far. How would the trolleybuses cope with an obstruction on the cables? For instance there is that silly craze of throwing shoes onto overhead cables when leaving school. Looking around my part of Ealing, there aren't many overhead cables and I wouldn't want a maze of wires along the Uxbridge Road. Bradford in Yorkshire? Of course it was reluctantly stopped, Yorkshire men are reknowned for putting their hands in pockets! As for noise, well I can cope with the noise a bus makes, was thinking of people plugged into personal stereos who cross the road anywhere they like. At the end of the day Chris, you are the expert, you know what you are talking about and I can see you are very passionate about this, I am just a consumer of public transport. What do your colleagues think of the Trolleybus idea? |
