It was clearly meant as a criticism, ie abuse. And as I pointed out in my reply the pro-tram brigade were every bit as noisy, a point you chose to overlook in your one-sided commentary. The campaign of opposition to the tram scheme was effective not because it was 'noisy' but because its major participants and many others on its side knew what they were talking about and were in the right, and worked long and hard to get the message across, including participation in the numerous working meetings round the table with the scheme promoters. The scheme was fundamentally and irremediably flawed, and quite simply the wrong solution for this corridor, which would have caused far more and bigger problems than it could have solved. |
