"Firstly the majority of people called were not residents along the route..." Not true. The polling organisation specifically rang numbers with STD codes that denoted areas close to the route. "...the questioning used was very leading and tended to prompt positive answers about the scheme which was what TfL intended." I have a background in market research and know the MORI polling organisation would never use "leading" questions. Perhaps you can tell us exactly what the question wording was that you regard as so biased? "...the clearest indication of the vast majority of people not wanting it was given in the local election of 2006..." And what happened in that election? Yes, Labour lost control of Ealing Council. But Labour also lost control of Harrow, Hounslow, Croydon, Hammersmith & Fulham and many other London boroughs. Are you seriously suggesting that these Tory victories were brought about by the Uxbridge Road tram issue? |
