"Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road, Liverpool Street" - try Central Line direct service from Ealing, with far more frequent trains than Xrail will have. "Faringdon" - same, changing to Circle Line at Notting Hill. "Canary Wharf" - same, changing to DLR at Stratford. So you have to change en route for the last two, but do you really think it worth spending all those billions on Xrail just to eliminate that; while IMPOSING a forced change for Greenford branch punters who currently enjoy a through service, and STILL not making the North and West London Lines (Orbirail) conveniently accessible for most of us in this borough. On the other hand, how the other half (or as I previously said, much more than half) live:- Try the likes of Doncaster-Barnsley, Hull-York Middlesbrough Newcastle etc etc etc. - and many many more throughout the rest of the country. Seems to many of us transport investment policy in this country continues to follow the Biblical principle: "TO THOSE WHO HAVE SHALL BE GIVEN; FROM THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SHALL BE TAKEN AWAY EVEN THAT WHICH THEY HAVE" |
