And while we are at it, the contributions made by Crossrail, Network Rail and TfL representatives in what was at times a sensible open debate in the Town Hall last night on Acton and West Ealing Crossrail stations - was very poor. These three people came to the meeting without detailed presentations. They could not answer questions. People in the audience appeared to be more knowledgeable than these three on many occasions. Prospective MP Angie Bray hit the nail on the head by saying that the meeeting should be soon repeated but only when XRail,NR and TfL reps can turn up with answers to the many questions posed by Councillors and residents. Northfield Councillor David Millican was very vocal at the meeting. Given that Crossrail West Ealing Station is planned to be built in Cleveland Ward, you'd expect the three Cleveland Ward Councillors to also be vocal at this first and only public meeting so far to discuss the new station. Councillors Ian Gibb, John Popham and Greg Stafford were understandably quiet at the meeting - as none of them actually attended it. |
