I know it is in a new format but isn't that old? I thought that the Council was picking up food waste and cardboard from schools. Is that no longer the case? Regarding recycling targets - are those the figures you achieve before you find out what has been sent to landfill/incinerated ie after the first sort or before? Our recycling system at present should give us good quality generally (especially green box) as it can be checked as it is sorted on kerbside. What happens to it and where it ends up isn't clear enough. I have seen the page. Cllr Mahfouz may be squirming because he just happens to now be holding the portfolio but isn't it a bit like pass the parcel? Or who gets caught in the hen-house when the chickens come home to roost? We either have party political ping-pong or party political pussy-footing. How about some cross-party environmental conscience? |
