Bassam You claim that you are working hard to ensure that other recycling goes up in order to mitigate the reduction in garden waste recycling. How will your plan to replace the white canvas sacks for plastics recycling with a green box which is the same as the green box we currently use to recycle dry recycleables, increase plastics recycling. The green box barely holds half what the white canvas sack will hold, and it comes with a hair net that residents will have to attach themselves and will soon get sick of. This won't work, and I suspect you know this. Plastics don't wiegh much so you seem to be haopy for people to send this to landfill via their black sacks. Please explain how this will increase plastics recyling rates. You state that garden waste recycling is estimated to reduce by 1%. What % increase have you and officers estimated plastics recycling will increase by as a result of the changes you are introducing here and what is your overall target for the year and for this term in office for recycling. |
