If the only problem was that it was poorly managed you can hardly condemn the idea completely. Apart from the carbon footprint there may come a time when we can't afford the fuel for trucks to collect it so we'd better start taking community composting more seriously. I would rather have a Bokashi bin than hand over material I could use, especially if I have to pay for it to be taken away. Shredders that could be borrowed from the council or allotment society on payment of a deposit are another possibility. Why aren't they working with existing local groups on this already? |
