Re All of the proceeds went where? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx the first being result of a garage breakin was covered by insurance, which turned out to on a " new for old " basis and as the one stolen was a Claud Butler of good spec. the insurers paid out well over £400, which was used to buy two new C Butlers, both of which were subsequently stolen as described before, and thus not covered by insurance. The one stolen from N/fields station was seen by me 3 days later in C Converters, so I got the Police involved and was able to show ownership with orig. documents but the C C owner was reluctant to let the bike go ( having been sold to them by a "regular" customer ! ) so we had to wait until a Court case convicted the person and even then the Police were powerless to force Mr. K..n to hand over the bike and who insisted he be paid the £50 his company had given for it, which unfortunately had to be done unless another court case against him was made privately by me. As far as I was concerned a criminal charge should have been made for handling / holding onto stolen goods but the Police were not prepared to act. |
