Insurance? Licence? Registration? But of course we want to encourage more people to cycle - both for travel to work and for leisure. Its good for your health, its creates less congestion and it is so much better for the environment. Given that - why on earth would we want to create barriers, hurdles and additional costs to getting people to cycle. Licences and registration for cycling is a muppet like idea. (Unless you want to create yet another massive and costly beaurocracy.) Moreover, if you follow that logic then you need to licence and insure joggers; why stop there, lets licence pedestrians. People pushing prams? Anyone carrying a rucksack? |
