As a regular cyclist, a regular pedestrian and a regular driver - in order of most inconsiderate most often: 1) Drivers being most inconsiderate to cyclist 2) Cyclists on pavements being inconsiderate to pedastrians 3) Pedestrians being unaware of cyclists (stepping out onto the road in front of cyclists) Way down the list is cyclists going through red lights to cut into pedestrians crossing. I can't even recall the last time this happened to me as a pedestrian. Perhaps Mr Stone sits in wait, leaping out when the cyclists come near? In terms of danger to the individual, the behaviour of some motorist to cyclists is much higher than any of the rest. So if all cyclists are to be damned for the bad behaviour of a few, then we'll need to hold all motorists and pedestrians to task as well. (And for clarity, I've never worn lycra for any of the modes of transport I use.) |
