The point is being missed. It's the principal. If as Asha says someone parks for 30 seconds or a cpuple of mins on your drive ( if your lucky enough to have one) then you would think it strange. And quite right you would probably ask them why and thus to leave. But this is a railway station, - A public place that was built with a drop off bay, admittedly a rather pathetic one but none the less that's what it was. It has to be remembered that the car park for Villiers house and the shops staff is just 50m away beside the railway. This has now been closed for well over 15 years unused. Since then there has been a problem and the simple solution was for allocated parking users to have a key and operate a drop down parking post. However it has become a cash cow for clamping and parking companies and they do not have a legal mandate as it is on private site with full public access. All that is needed there is a warden to allow drop offs and keep anyone from abusing the system. But it is a cynical cash making scheme by a landlord corporate who had a car park as part of the site and sold it off. |
