| When I worked in Windsor we rented three parking spaces clearly indicated as "Private Parking" with a penalty charge (for unauthorised use)notice also displayed. We wanted to keep them for the MD (naturally) and two visitors' spaces. They were just off the main shopping street (Peascod Street) and were routinely occupied by people 'just stopping for a minute'. Our solution was to employ a private company not to clamp but to simply block in the offending vehicles and collect the penalty charge in cash (as was stipulated on the sign). We let the private company keep the fines and they were naturally very 'enthusiastic' about ensuring that our three (expensive) spaces were kept clear. |
