Indeed, so it seems and apology hereby delivered. This concession conflicts with what I've always been given to understand - do you know if this represents some change in the law or a 'clarification'?. Can't however find any official reference to your bit about being allowed to 'take as much time as reasonably required' - where is this stated? - I remember years ago being firmly told by a lecturer on a transport course that the 2 minute time limit applied to set-down pickup on yellow lines. You realise of course that, while very useful to many motorists, this concession makes a nonsense of loading bans, since in busy areas even at traffic-critical locations (except on Red Routes) the nearside carriageway can be continuously occupied by an endless procession of vehicles stopping to drop off or pick up passengers - in fact it means that there's no means of keeping any section of road clear of parking other than where there's bus stop clearways, crossing zigzags or school zigzags? |
