Paul, I have never heard of anyone being pursued by Park Direct beyond sending letters which seem to come from a debt collector. They are all nonsense. If Park Direct want to pursue you they have to take you through the small claims process where the adjudicator would laugh them out of the building - after maybe asking you to pay a reasonable 50p or so for your parking. It is worth noting though that as sneaky as Park Direct are you will have parked in the very clearly marked and loudly signed private bays. The council will shortly be using the CPO powers given by Crossrail to sweep this all away. It is something I would have liked to have done when we were in power but it was impossible without the CPO powers. Having talked to them I can tell you that one of the property owners was intent on holding the council to ransom if it tried to purchase this site. Without CPO it would have been prohibitively expensive. Please let us know what happens. I keep giving the same advice but I never hear back. No news is good news I guess. |
