Displacement parking in the area was not a big problem when I arrived just after 9 am. But around Drayton Green it was very crowded when I went there after the event. Going from St Mary's to the Broadway proved impossible. There were no signs to say all access was blocked . I had to go back and find a way to Northfields to access the Uxbridge Road. I am pleased that many cyclists enjoyed the day but other people were seriously inconvenienced. This was mainly due to lack of clear prior information as the where you could and could not go by car. I was also pleased to hear that 98% of the costs were paid by the sponsors. I hope this is true. If there is another such event, let it be a Bank Holiday Monday. |
