| Isn't the real hostility in this thread due to the fact so little warning was given about road closures? The fact that the participants are cyclists is irrelevant. They could equally be dung rollers or pogo stick racers. As an aside: without traffic forcing them into the nearside gutter how will cyclists know which side of the road to cycle on? I trust the constabulary will be present at pedestrian crossings to catch those whose choose to ignore them. I assume that police on the route won't be issued with footpath stingers as the novelty of cycling on the roadway will prove too great. |
