| We thoroughly enjoyed it - very well organised, and the people manning the barriers and in the parks, etc., were all very pleasant. A lot more seemed to have taken part than I'd thought would, but it didn't feel too crowded. I noticed one church on the route, near to Ealing Common, selling tea and cakes (and doing well), while another (St Paul's, near Northfields) was giving away free drinks and choc ices.... Having drunk enough Gatorade (given by sponsors) and with lunch in prospect, we resisted the choc ices, but it was nice of them to offer. It was an excellent way of getting people on their bikes (especially very young kids) but, as it being distributed around the boroughs, it probably won't come to Ealing again for a few years. However, there is the London Sky ride on September 5th to look forward to. |
