| Isn't that because it is perfectly possible as a motorist, bus driver etc to behave as if cyclists didn't exist - once surrounded by metal you feel invulnerable. But cyclists spend their whole time on the road worrying about other road users - the only way to ever give cyclists the sense of freedom that motorists seem entitled to, is to have them dominate the space - for one day only. And I expect pedestrians are more than welcome - they certainly are on the London ride which is the only one I have done. |
