My objection is that the planners of this even have paid no regard to Christians or to commerce. I will have to leave early and park away from the place our church meets. I am still not certain what will happen to our disabled members who need to park in a car park off a road which is part of the route. This is for me almost as big a folly supperted by Boris as the tram by Red Ken. If you need roads closed to cars to get on your bike you are not fit to cycle. In my cycling days there were no cycle lanes. The fun was weaving in and out to get ahead of those on four wheels. Cycle lanes are for children and wimps. I cycled in London from 1965 to 1998. In conclusion I ask, would these people have closed roads round a mosque on Friday? The typical cyclist is not downtrodden but is an ignorer of traffic lights and/or a traveller on pavements who when on the road fails to give proper signals. |
