| I have complained about the operating system used by the council often enough, but I have also offered copies of Free Open Source Software to anyone interested enough to want to try it. I have downloaded CD and DVD ISO Images from legitimate and legal internet sites including the University of Kent Computer Science Department at www.mirrorservice.org which are designed to either run without any installation from the disc and independant of the installed system, or alternatively be fully installed on a computer as main or alternative additional operating system. There is a huge amount of free software available, with versions for almost any type of computer, but there is no advertising or PR budget. |
