The answers from the web server which currently supplies a report about maintenance downtime appears to be an Apache server hosted by BT, but that is no guarantee about the normal server. Apache is a free open source server and is the most popular and reliable server in the world, but it is designed to be able to handle almost any feeds from any originating systems. It would be normal for parts of a web site to take information from various individual sources such as individual departments, each responsible for its own content, although I have no idea how Ealing manage their website. It is likely that the entire Ealing network has a problem, and is not providing the original data to the Apache server. This could easily be a general virus infection, which could force BT to disconnect the feeds until the system is clean. |
