Paul, I'm quite happy to accept that you have a nuanced and reasonably balanced view of car use and accept your claim that you don't denounce motorists 99.9% of the time. You've always been willing to explain your views and I don't see the point of a pile on over this particular pointless quibble. I would be grateful though if you could specify the evidence that you have that there was no traffic displacement onto Swyncombe Avenue and why you think both residents and transport officers are mistaken on this point. Also, you have hinted at but not specified more malign motivations for the council leader's actions. As I see it, the worst he can be accused of is opportunistically using the LTN issue to gain power and misjudging the extent to which Andrew Gilligan would punish the borough. If there is more to it than that I'd be grateful to know. |
