| I suspect that the crazy 'garden refuse' council tax surcharge is just the beginning. I'm sure that it's just a tester to see how well it goes down with us mug council tax payers. What's next? 'Plastics collection' surcharge? 'Bottle' surcharge? Entry fee to the council tip, er, I mean 'recycling centre'? If the council is so cash-strapped that it now risks jeopardising it's commendable recycling rates, surely the first thing to be 'cut back' is frivolous vanity projects like open air pop concerts. |
