A few calls and a drive around Kingston is very revealing. (if I can do this why not our elected representatives?) I finally got an official to admit that the wheely bin has been a disaster in Kingston Town where it's terraced housing streets has rendered the place a mess. The garden waste has barely been taken up and will make a loss this and next year. Fly tipping has surged and reports of vermin have risen by 200% in just the last quarter. However in the larger more suburban parts of the borough, wheely bins have caused less of a problem. Another call reveals that call-outs to the fire service for out of control bonfires has also risen since march over last year. I suggest Cllrs., voting for such a change actually drive around Kingston and Richmond and see for themselves the mess that so called value for money on paper really causes. |
