Our public services should try and keep as many lower paid people in work as possible. maybe the higher paid jobs bonuses and consulting posts should be cut. also general waste. a friend of mine volunteers in a library to provide help to people in how to use the internet. that is fine as it is the sort of role that would not be normally done. keep staffing at a level to keep the libraries open and use volunteers to add an extra level of service. the issue is that labour are cutting these jobs and then blaming the tories for the cuts. They need to realise that the choices they make such as closing albert dane show that they do not care as to the effects of these cuts. |
