Topic: Vounteers Cannot Be Used in Labraries Because of Unions

It would be easy to keep the libraries that are to be closed going with volunteers however one thing stands in the way: the trade unions (UNITE, UNISON), etc., in combination with the Ealing Labour Group. Since time immeorial volunteers have not been allowed to do "protected" work like stacking shelves (putting the books back) and issuing books. Basically its jobs for the boys (and girls) however no volunteers!
