This increase in CPZ resident parking permits is not the only thing to increase. Pay- by-phone parking charges have also risen and risen again when vehicle combustion capacity is taken into account. Pay-by-phone spaces are important to our shopping centres so applauded by the 20 minute neighbourhood initiative supporters. House and rental prices here are high. It is not surprising therefore that workers on relatively low pay have to commute in to staff our shops and services. Raising parking tarrifs for them puts the viability of our local services in jeopardy. There isn't much glue stored in Percival Castle hence no joined up thinking. |
