| Wow Ben, something else you seem rather in the dark about. Ealing traffic wardens went on strike last autumn because the council refused to recognise the union to which they belong. Not bad going for an apparently left-leaning local authority. This was after the warden service was brought in-house last April, with the council subsidiary Greener Ealing ripping up a decade long agreement the previous warden employers, Serco, had with Unite. There aren’t enough wardens to enforce the parking restrictions across the borough as it is. And no, it’s not reasonable to expect residents to be taxed like this. Maybe increase the rental charge for bike hanger users from the laughable 70p a month would be a wiser choice. |
