| You're being obtuse. It's obvious a higher speed will be more dangerous to anyone involved in a collision but in practice this is not the case as accidents in 30mph zones are not driven by the speed limit; poor junction design and wreckless driving (far in excess of the speed limit) are the main causes of accidents. If you followed your logic to its conclusion the speed limit should be reduced to 4mph and no motorists should be allowed to overtake anyone walking down the pavement carrying a red flag (as was once the case). |
