| For at least 10 years the average speed of a car in Inner London has been a steady 11mph. In Outer London it has been a consistent 19mph, so what is the big fuss all about over 20mph limits? On average, nobody is going any slower than they were 10 years ago! Instead, data now reports that traffic is flowing better and that there are a smaller number of serious injuries than there were. Yes, there are still lots of silly pedestrians out there looking at their phones as they jay walk. Stupid! However, do you want to be going home with a non-fault collision on your mind involving a pedestrian? If not, drive at 20mph to reduce the risk of it happening to you. If we are recognising all the stupid pedestrians texting whilst crossing the road, because s/he is obsessed with technology, I will highlight the huge number of drivers, obsessed with technology, who are still using their phones when driving. Stupid! |
