| Well Ben, your argument might apply to residential side roads but not to main arterial routes. The stretch of Uxbridge Road outside Ealing Hospital is a case in point. 30 mph is fine there. Even the buses want to travel faster than 20. Making bus times slower (and journey times have significantly increased in the past decade) is actually a disincentive to use public transport. Your pearl clutching about little Sammy is hilarious. Perhaps if you could make an argument without coming over as a sanctimonious idiot you might get a better response. The ‘what about the children’ argument is ridiculous. Getting kids to and from various places is highly impractical in much of Ealing without a car, unless you are an itinerant photographer like Paul where punctuality isn’t an issue. Your wish to see everyone cycling everywhere is simplistic nonsense. Perhaps you need to move! |
