| Paul, your brain needs a complete redesign. Preferably to include some common sense and less blind prejudice. 20mph is fine for residential streets but it’s not always appropriate for main arterial roads, which are wider and designed for the levels and speeds of traffic that use them. The various pinch pints implemented across London have slowed traffic to a crawl in most areas anyway, but the result of some speed limits has been to encourage speeding. This is particularly the case with delivery drivers who are on tight schedules as it is. Think of that next time you order a bike accessory from Amazon. In Wales they have realized the folly of the blanket restriction and are reverting many roads back to the higher limit. |
