I have still seen nothing to suggest deliberate 'rip-off'. Chris Veasey seems to have a bee in his bonnet about the fare structure if you get on a train and then a bus, but this seems to be a very separate issue to allegations of accidental over-charging, or penalties for failing to touch out. I think he's doing his cause a disfavour by indiscriminately lumping it in with all the mouth-frothing about people refusing to have an Oyster card on principle, or whatnot. A separate discussion about whether Oyster should allow free travel on buses if an all-day rate has already been bought on the Tube may be worth having, although TfL may quite legitimately respond that in that case we'd all have to pay more for a day-rate on the Tube just in case some people want to use the bus too. |
