Punters should not HAVE to be accountants and keep checking - they should be able to rely on and trust the system and the operators to treat them fairly and correctly. I also object to having to pay twice or more for the inconvenience of suffering the inconvenience of having to change buses or trains or bus to train or vice versa - which all too many journeys entail. That is not even a bug in the Oyster system, it is INHERENT in it. That didn't happen with the Travelcard system -  multi-stage journeys didn't cost extra. BTW I though you were one of the old geezers like me that's old enough to travel free on a freedom pass so exempt from the Oyster problems. Am I wrong?
