| 16 and 17 year olds have never been enfranchised except to try and get Scotland out of the union. In that referendum EU citizens were enfranchised if resident there. I resented this regargding myself as a UK citizen as having a better right to enfranchisement. I would of course have voted for the Scots to suffer the adverse consequences of their heart felt nationalism. But like the Queen I was happy the Union survived the folly of the SNP. |
