| Having lost the referendum, remainers are determined to fudge and blur issues to keep the UK in the EU de facto if not de jure. During the referendum debate, both sides were clear what a vote to leave the EU would mean: leaving the EU Single Market, Customs Unions and the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice. Membership of EU programmes and related institutions was not clear because non EU countries participate in many of these, so this was up for negotiation. Euratom is particularly odd as it has the same membership as the EU (plus Switzerland as an associate member) but is legally distinct from the EU and outside the regulation of the European Parliament. As for right wingers on Question Time, there is nearly always a majority of remainers on the panel. |
