Fountain working and leads coming out of the "switch room" this morning so it may be that the supply has the capacity to do fountain and merrygoround. I didn't think that when all the fish died last year. This morning the fountain pump must have been working under some load because the fountain was about 1m lower than normal and the far one had disappeared. It has been like this for some time 8 weeks? I am told this is caused not by an inlet blockage but by a pipe blockage between the pump and the fountains and that this can't be solved until the winter when the pond is drained and the pipe exhumed and cleared. Of course the merrygoround has probably been working overtime this afternoon and overloaded the supply which has tripped out. We were promised that this wouldn't happen again. At least we don't have to face a wildlife extinction this year because all 350 fish died last year. The newly hatched moorhen chicks will survive for some time with no fountains. However you do wonder about an organisation that is beaten by two fountains...what happens when they have £2,400,000 to spend? Now Eric we know they read this forum so let's have a small wager to see who "comes out" first... Officer Councillor Friend or Ranger. |
