| Thanks for the contact info. Someone else has also contacted me to say that they are in need of an old pc for a local group, so I might follow this up if I can wipe the hard drive safely. BTW I contacted Ealing Council to ask if they provide a service for secure disposal of pcs and the reply just pointed me in the direction of their collection service where you can leave up to 8 items to be picked up for £20. I have used this service before and they are unable to give you a date or time of pick-up so sometimes items can sit outside the front of your house for up to 2 weeks. I threfeore think it's irresponsible of them to suggest that a computer should be disposed of in the same way. But at the same time, I'm not surprised! |
