| Companies are bound by regulations to dispose of their IT kit in a certain way. Its good practise to wipe all data. Any leaks of data just look bad on the company. Individuals aren't bound by these regulations and thinking about it, would anyone really be willing to spend money getting someone to clear their data? You could always take your hard disk out, take the PC to the dump and drill lots of holes in it with an electric drill? Or keep it as it contains your data so you could transfer it all to your new machine? G |
