Hi Colm,

Hobbayne and Elthorne are not the most affluent parts of the borough, but who cares?

This prize money is still a gimmick.  However, never dismiss the link between affluence and recycling.  Southall would be a good case in point...low income households are far less likely to be interested in the benefits of recycling than a higher income household. If you want to try and change their habits then offer each household a cash incentive rather than offering the ward that they live in extra money to spend.  Low income households are far less likely to be interested in the upkeep of their local community.

And never call anyone a "nutter".  It is an affront to those who have mental health illnesses - and probably many of the people you represent will have a mental health problem.
