A lot more nuanced data. I have already gladly accepted the need for 20mph zones in APPROPRIATE locations. A blanket 20mph is supported only by those aho are totally oblivious to keeping traffic on the move. Stretches of the A4, a six lane, purpose built road, designed to move traffic and with excellent cycling provision, have recently been reduced to 30 mph as has the entire elevated section of the A40. The lunatics are simply pandering to presuure groups. Time and again, TfL has proven itself to be unfiy for purpose when it comes to traffic planning from hiring discredited 'experts' to producing unsafe schemes like the Hogarth roundabout 'remodelling'. I have no faith in their 'expertise'. |
