If pedestrians stay on the pavement and motor vehicles stay on the road, what's the problem? According to a recent government report, 'The most common contributory factor allocated to pedestrians in fatal or serious collisions with a vehicle was ‘Pedestrian failed to look properly’, (and) the most common factor allocated to vehicles involved was ‘Driver or rider failed to look properly’', which might suggest a remedy. Now bicycles are something else, as their main appeal is that they can theoretically go anywhere! |
