Then why not ask a question instead of fishing. In may case 20mph limits can make a difference to safely, as example close to schools. However, their blanket imposition is nonsensical as example on dual carriageways with no proximity to housing or social infrastructure. Using emotive words like powerful and compelling mean nothing without detailed analysis as the good people of Porstmouth found out when the safety improvements realised in a very small number of areas were used as justification for a city-wide 20mph imposition. Simple, laziness to assume that what works in 'location A' will also work in 'location B' and elsewhere. |
