| You seem to have some difficulty with understanding things Ben. If you had any ability at analysis or critical reasoning then you might see that all the evidence in the council report isn’t evidence at all. It’s supposition and spin, which is what they’ve done with every policy proposal put forward such as LTNs and school streets. When pressed on detail there’s been nothing forthcoming. Here’s something for you. Some years ago the council decided to introduce 20mph speed limits on all roads as a ‘trial’. When asked how that trial was to be monitored and what baseline data it was being measured against the response was that there was no data and no measuring of impacts would be done. It was a sham and just the whim of a few councillors. Regardless of whether you think that 20mph speed limits are appropriate or not, to predicate decisions on that basis is fundamentally dishonest. It’s the same truck used over and over again and it’s public money that’s being spent so the public has a right to be properly informed and consulted. If you are happy to swallow that then there’s no help for you at all. |
