| Except that it’s not free. There’s a ‘convenience fee’. The old system worked perfectly well. The places where there were occasional problems could have been sorted out with traffic wardens enforcement, although since the wardens are in dispute with Ealing Council that might have meant Mason and chums having to get off their butts and negotiate. What this will do is discourage passing trade for many of the smaller shops. Of course, stupid bigots seem to think that cyclists will plug that gap. What happened to that false argument about them spending more money locally? |
