| If there were demand for longer hours, the Council could test this by offering residents the option of keeping existing hours along with other alternative. However, they didn't do this, just providing an 'other' option where those who are happy with current arrangements then need to specify preferred hours. The current hours are sufficient to stop anyone using the Elizabeth line to commute to work; as the Council haven't done any survey to identify the causes the parking pressure, there's no certainty that longer CPZ hours will make any significant difference. Shorter hours are easier to administer because one needs fewer wardens to enforce the restrictions; it's self evident one will need wardens to enforce 8am-8pm than two hours a day. |
